About the project

For three weeks in May, students on the Creative Writing & Cultural Studies course, in Inchicore College, will travel to Alpedrete, near Madrid, to do work placement.

In partnership with  the Montessori School in Madrid,  the commonalities and differences experienced will encourage cross curricular practices between the Education departments and the Creative Writing and Cultural studies departments.

During their time, they will work under supervision to produce written work that will become evidence of their working practice. This practice will require them to do writing workshops with students, as well as engage with literature, language and  other cultural encounters they have along the way.

Their aim; to meet the exciting expectations of  Erasmus+, as well produce a range of writing, that will include, short pieces of fiction, poetry, scripts, journalism and opinion. Evidence of this will be recorded daily on this blog.

The specific competencies that the learners will acquire include:

• New and increased knowledge and skills relative to the subject discipline being studied in College.
• New/increased language skills from basic level upwards.
• International work placement/training as part of their final certification
